For Caribbean medical students and international graduates, the concept of “residency” is a crucial phase. It’s an advanced training period where you work in hospitals and clinics in the U.S., learning under the tutelage of experienced physicians and directly caring for patients. This stage is essential; it’s where you apply your years of study in real-world medical settings, refining your skills under professional supervision.
Our 20-week program is meticulously crafted to bridge the gap between your Caribbean medical education and the U.S. medical system. We focus on preparing you for the USMLE (United States Medical Licensing Examination) – the critical exams that validate your readiness to practice medicine in the United States. With a blend of intensive study sessions and hands-on experience in teaching hospitals, our goal is to ensure your success in these exams.
The MD5/6 program offers an innovative approach, especially for those resuming their medical education or seeking a more streamlined path. It includes 6 weeks of core Family Medicine rotation and 6 weeks of Internal Medicine, providing a comprehensive clinical experience. After successfully completing the USMLE Step 1, you return to finish the Internal Medicine core, seamlessly continuing your journey.
Additionally, we provide extensive support in navigating the residency application process. Securing a residency position is a competitive and complex endeavor, and our program equips you with the necessary tools and guidance. Comp / USMLE Step 1 (8 Weeks)

Embark on an essential phase of your medical training with our Clinical Immersion program, meticulously aligned with the Competency-Based Medical Education guidelines set by the ACGME. This 12-week program is specially designed to immerse you in diverse medical specialties, providing hands-on experience in real clinical settings. Here, you’ll apply your foundational medical knowledge to a variety of patient care scenarios, gaining invaluable practical experience.
Our program places a strong emphasis on mastering the 13 Core Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs), key competencies pivotal for a smooth transition into the next phase of your medical career. These EPAs are integrated throughout your training, ensuring you develop a comprehensive skillset that encompasses all critical aspects of patient care and medical practice.
During this immersive experience, you will be under the guidance of seasoned medical professionals. The program includes dedicated 6-week cores in both Family Medicine (FM) and Internal Medicine (IM), each designed to deepen your expertise in these fundamental areas of medical practice. These rotations are not only about enhancing your clinical skills but also about understanding the nuances of patient interactions and healthcare delivery.
